Where's a good place to get small iconic images.

For a shopping website.

e.g., A small image of a bouquet of flowers for the flowers section, picture of a generic tire for auto parts, etc.

To get an idea of available designs, I always try Google image search. It has a setting where you can select image-size:

[images.google.com...]

However I would NOT advise you to directly use one of these images, since in many/most cases it is proprietary and copyrighted artwork. But using it as basis for a own modification should be acceptable, as long as your modifications are extensive enough.

I always find Microsoft's Design Gallery Live [dgl.microsoft.com] is great for a quick fix.

You may have to surf around, but these icons are awesome. Most of them scale from 16x16 all the way up to 128x128.

Also look at symbol fonts. There are some great fonts out there that have scalable vector art.
