IN PHOTOSHOP 7

How do I make an image that looks like the stroke of a real paint brush?

Also, how can I make an image that looks like a ripped piece of paper that is semi-transparent that has some texture to it?

Thanks.

for the torn paper:

create the document,
add the texture.
create a layer on top of the layer with the texture.
fill the new layer with the color you want the texture to be, keep the layer active.
in the layers palette, choose the overlay blending mode.
adjust the opacity of the color layer from the layers palette.
merge the texture and color layers.
adjust the opacity of the colored texture from the layers palette.

do a search in your favorite search engine for:
photoshop, torn paper

there are lots of tutorials for torn edges, pick the one that best suits your needs and apply it tou your transparent paper.

there are brushes that you can use that have a paintbrush effect--not sure what you final product is supposed to look like though.
