Colour matching

Illustrator to Dreamweaver

When I produce graphics for my web page I first make them in Illustrator, export to Photoshop to resize and save as a .gif and then export to Dreamweaver.

Once on the site the colours of the graphics don't match the HTML background although they have the same 6-digit colour code.

Does anyone know why this is? Am I exporting graphics a rather long winded way? Is this the reason for the different colour?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Hi NO...

If you make your GIFs transparent then only the HTML background colour will show, this should resolve your problem.

Good luck.

Something may not be right with your color settings between Illustrator to Photoshop. I've not seen any problems with matching colors from the programs mentioned to colors within a web page.

What do you have your system colors set at? Is it possible that it is something with your own system settings that is causing the visual differences?

Is the HTML background that you refer to a hex color? Or is it a tiling gif image that fills the background? It could be that your tiling gif is set to 8 colors and your imported gif is at 256 colors. I think that might cause some differences. Just guessing now.
