I know I can take a screen shot to create a bitmap image of an html page, but when the page is longer than the screen obviously part of the html page is missing from the screen capture.

Is there a way to create a bitmap of html page that is longer than the screen other than splicing mulitiple screen captures to a single image?

I think you can do that with screen capture programs where it will capture a whole window on your screen...I can't remember the names, though. Try download.com or a search for "Screen Capture".

HM I tried several screen capture programs... and if it is not on the screen it gets cropped....

Perhaps instead of a "screen shot" you want to "print to fax" instead. But, instead of actually faxing a picture of the document, save it to disk. The default Fax Wizard on XP let me do it (i.e. I opted to saved it in a JPEG format file).

Cool idea... I'll give it a go.

why don't you set your screen resoultion to a higher setting, say 1024 X 768--or higher.(assuming you are at 800 X 600)

the image should fit in the window and you can successfully capture a screenshot.

I believe Snagit (http://www.techsmith.com) has the capability of automatically scrolling "down the page".

You can download a free copy to see if it meets your needs...

Thanks ppdeagle. That Snagit program works very well.

The more I use this program the more impressed I am. How many times I've wanted to send a client a 'look' at a page without the clicking around on in-progress HTML 'stuff'.

A perfect snapshot of any html page even without the browser frame - just the page - any length! Great stuff.

I hate when they do that. It always seems they know the first link to try. Of course, they think it's the end of the world, while you look at is a minor typo which you've been to busy to deal with, in part because it is so minor.

Another advantage it they can't save the HTML before they're paid in full. Although, it is probibly better to avoid such client.
