I need to convert a windows media file to a mac format. What software should I be using and are there resources that will help me do this?

Not much choice for this. What I usually do is to capture the file with Camtasia or HyperCam - will result in an .avi which you can then convert to QT.

Anyway you'll loose some quality. Most Macs will play most wmv files, so you may decide to keep the wmv?!

WMV is a pain to convert to any other format (but not as bad as Real).

The only way I've been able to do it is to use the WM encoder (v. 7) to re-encode the file into another codec (e.g., Microsoft's MPEG4V2) and then to AVI.
