A simple, dumb question

Okay, this is really a dumb question, and I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but I just want to make sure:

If I have an image on a web page, but the URL for the link is someone else's server, even though it is ultimately displaying on my page, it uses no bandwidth of mine right?
A typical example of this are affiliate ads.
