Am i missing something? Hope someone can assist.
I looked at your post yesterday and tried the same thing on PS6 - simply by unchecking the Mac OS in the output settings allows for long file names and it also keeps the settings for the next image, so I wasn't able to offer you any suggestions.
You allude to the fact that you used to be able to save them as jpg's with long file names, but not now. Have you tried uninstalling PS and re-installing? Not much help I'm afraid, but you never know.
Good luck,

I've found the answer. Even though I saved the setting (output settings) with 'mac Os' unchecked, when i came to saving another long file name it would revert from 'output settings' back to 'default settings'. This meant I just had to overwrite the default setting with the Mac Os unchecked and hey presto. Hope that makes sense for anyone who may have a similar problem.
Either do that or shorten the file name!
