Adword Brackets always, Quotes sometimes?

Here is the scenario:
Should I use brackets and quotes in the same adgroup?
[blue widgets] - Returns exact matches
"blue widgets" - Returns matches with other words before or after blue widgets

Do you do brackets always and quotes sometime? Or, some brackets and always with quotes?

I think the answer would depend on the keywords you're targeting - basically you can use any combination of matches in any one group, so really whatever works best for you.

As an addenda, we always look at words where the suggested number of clicks is >50 per day, to opt for exact match first and if that doesn't yield the sort of results you want then try it as a phrase match, which will widen the field and lessen the yield.

If I uue widgets I ALWAYS also use "widgets" and [widgets]

Gives you better accounting, doesn't use up your 1% ctr on 1000 clicks limit as fast, and lets you get a better idea what people look for AND perhaps cheaper rates on the more restrictive matches.

So am I correct in assuming you are adjusting your daily budget up or down to reach this >50 per day? One of my search phrases, 3 words long, and 2 of the words are very popular, so I have to adjust downward in this case to the >50 range, which saves me money!

I've read almost every post in this forum (yes, my eyes are bugging out), so that I can begin my campaign.
