I have noticed a fair number of searches on my domain name. Can I use www.mysite.com and mysite.com as keywords in AdWords?

According to my experiences (I've emailed Google a few times about this) Yes you can. I have a few competitors bidding on my domain name and company name. Until you trademark your domain name, then competitors can bid on it. If it's trademarked, you can ask google to remove their bids and then only you can bid on it.

You can bid on it but be aware that you will only appear for it on google partners and not on google itself, at least for the www.mysite.com
