how to add a state name for the add

Guy, cam someone please tell me how to add a state name in the add?

Meaning I put a code like [state] or something and when a visitor is searching it reads his ip and puts his state name in my google add.

Im sure you know what im talking about, i just dont know whats it called. Someone please help me with this.

I don't think you can insert it into your ad like you can with dynamic keyword insertion but if you change your targeting criteria in the edit campaign screen to include the state you want to appear it should appear below ads served to searches in that state.

Nah, i think you should be able to do it for affect. One of my competitors has the same add showing up with different state name. I even think i saw somewhere in the google tutorials, about it, but cant find it anymore..

It sounds like what your competitor has done is seperate the ads into different adgroups. In each of the adgroups he is using different keywords like "georgia widgets" or "california widgets" with different ads for each of the adgroups.
