Need a little help here guys. Does the Search Network mean my ads will show up ONLY if they are searched for. I don't like my ads showing up in the Google network if they aren't searched for.

Thanks

I think this is an Adwords question.

If you're participating in Adwords, your ads will show in Google's (and Google's partner sites) search result pages when someone types in the keyword your ad is based on.

I've recently discovered that isn't exactly always true. Some ads may be shown that are not searched for, yet will count as search - not content.

I experienced the same thing. That is way I asked in here. Google told me that my ads will show only if my keyword is searched for. Yet, I got some hits that were not generated from search queries.

They may consider type in domains that go to parking pages running AdSense "searches" as the user is typing in what they want in their browser toolbar. Last time I opted into the search network I got alot of hits from those parking pages and unfortunately the domains were often not related to my keywords.
