Hi all. Interesting question. We like to show our clients that we will get them in the top blue on google for their desired search terms by showing them other clients we have up there. The problem is that everytime we have to show a client that we obtain top blue positions we need to do a search in google hense driving down our click through rates. How do we get around that? How can we show clients other client positions without effecting CTR's? thanks in advance!

One suggestion is to do it once and take a screen shot image.

But I think you are worrying way too much about doing a couple of searches of having it affect your CTR rate long-term.

If you are that concerned about your CTR falling due to your impressions while showing prospective clients your work, just click that ad and raise that CTR!

that sounds like an unethical practice.

Just run a report that shows the average postion. That is more meaningful data than where the ad appears on just one particular search.

And the previous poster is probably correct about worrying about a couple of extra impressions. Remember you are creating extra impressions for all the ads that appearing on that page in addition to your own.

This must a *really* low trafficked keyword for a few extra impressions to have any impact whatsoever.

we do a lot of local search so yes many of the terms are low traffic.

I tend to look at it as, everyone has to do searches occasionally to check on their ads, so it's kind of a wash.
