I am getting pressure from a Thomas Register salesperson to spend money with them. They claim to have a partnership with Google that will get me more traffic than I can do by myself by purchasing my own adwords.

Does anyone know the details of any such arrangement?

BTW .. They did not get any money………..

I had a client mention this, but I didn't get all the details. It sounded like Thomas Register had bought premium listings for various keywords and would use those listings to funnel traffic to its advertisers. Sorry now I didn't pay more attention to it.

You should ask a lot of questions before signing up for this deal - where do the ads appear, how is your cost determined (by exposure, click, flat rate, etc.), how is the ad copy determined (is it your copy, or their generic copy for the topic), etc. And, if they are using Premium Listings, ask how long the program will be in effect.

Thanks for the input. I asked for specifics and the info was very general. What I was able to gather is the ad ranking with Thomas Register depends how much you spend with them in a combination of hard copy, CD , and web listings. More specifics were unavailable until a dollar commitment was discussed.
