AdWords dried up?

Can someone at Google turn the AdWords server off and back on again.

I'm wondering if it's related to the BD roll out, which is supposedly coming to a head this weekend.

The what...? Could you please fill me in on this BD roll out. Have I been sleeping again?

BTW, very low amount of clicks today...

It's been a very weird month.

Indeed it has been, BostonSEO and I can't put my finger on the 'why'...

At first, only one campaign was suffering terrible conversions. Now it's spreading to other completely unrelated campaigns.

Impressions down but only slightly, CPC lower than usual, CTR higher than in the past. Sites haven't changed, ads haven't changed more than usual. What's up?

Well the clicks and impressions from europe, UK and Australia are about normal but from US they've just disappeared. So I go and have a look at the google.com serps and what do I see? Theres only two adwords at the top of the page, no boxes at the side and two or three adwords hidden at the bottom. Its not surprising the clicks have disappeared. I'm just trying to decide whether to bid up to get in the top boxes or bid low enough to just make it in to the bottom box. I guess I'll have to do some testing to see what works.

Is this just a trial or is Google going to extend this to all markets? If they start doing this adwords layout globally I might have to rethink my whole adwords strategy.

I guess I can answer my own question, this different layout with no adwords at the side are now on google.com.au. And the absolutely worst thing is that on searches where there are not many ads they all all show at the bottom of the page. Is google trying to get rid of their only paying customers? Why are they hiding the adwords?

Gramski,

Oh that's awful! I know from experimenting with my own sites that an ad on top or in a sidebar will convert. When I stick them at the bottom of the page, they never get clicks.

And I certainly wouldn't pay to be at the bottom!
