Does anyone in the UK know if it is possible to claim VAT back on my Google spend. I am VAT registered and thought I could claim VAT back on advertsing services. Is this a mistake?

I didn't think they charged VAT if you are using your account for business purposes...

If you payed VAT on the invoice you can 'claim it back', if not, obviously you cannot. I think that is how VAT works (long time since I left UK).

when you setup your account payment details, make sure you tick "Business" user and then enter your UK VAT registration number. Under EC regulations, google (ireland) will not charge you vat as a UK business.

If you have already setup your account and not specified "Business" and your vat number, you will need to contact Adwords support to get them to change it. If they do, and you have been vat registered all along, they will reimburse you the vat you have paid already by sending you a cheque.
