How often can I change my daily budget?

For economical reasons I need to lower my daily budgets on all my campains.
I've read sometimes people get banned on Adwords because they change the budget in a way that causes adwords to overdelivery and result on free clicks. I'm not sure how this is caused, I'd like to know how, exactly with the goal of avoid doing that.

For example, I have several campaigns with a daily limit of $50, which is never expended all, but near or arround $40. I've just checked and they have arround $15 expended today. Is it safe to set them up, let's say to $20.00 for today? And then tomorrow, let's say to put them on, for example, $14.00?, I mean, in order to slowly shrink my budget without causing the adwords system to get angry with me.

never heard of that. i change mine all the time as a saftey net. it lets you change 10 times per day.

You can go down even from $500 to $1 without any troubles.

For economical reasons you should not lower you daily budget but your Max CPC!

Thanks for the advice, actually I've just reacted, instead of lowering all the campaings, I will just pause those that get me the lower ROI for a while.

heck!, I have a good personal credit line, why to pause my business because low cash?
I will borrow some money and let google to charge my personal credit cards for a while, then when money is back just pay my personal loan.

I play around with it all the time. I just got my main keyword down to 5 cent versus the 50 cent it was when I started. Some days I don't even hit my daily budget and I get a lot more clicks now, obviously. So change away!
