A sign of things to come?

Last week I was approached by one of my Scandinavian clients who informed me that ther local Google Office has contacted them about a PPC with Google Adwords in 4 Scandinavian Countries. The offer was apparently to good to miss.

My clients Google contact has presented the client with complete keyword list and recommended campaign copy. The client only has to accept this "to good to miss" offer. Unfortunately I don´t have any details or cost or goals discussed.

I have promised not to divulge any information about my client although this is not an isolated case. This is happening on a wider scale in Scandinavia.

I would like to see a debate about this on Webmasterworld. Here are a few questions I would like to put out there:

1. Is this a sign of what we have ahead of us Internatioanlly or is it geographically isolated?

2. Has anyone else seen this kind of approach in markets other than Scandinavia?

3. Does anyone else see a moral dilemma that Google has inside information about other users successful keywords campaigns and can profit from our previos track records for each keyword?

4. Won´t Google competing in the market inflate prices. Google can in theory dominate all Keywords as they can easily pay $100/click back into there own pocket?

I´m sure more deeper issues will develop within this forum but I find this a very disturbing development!

Although this is my first post on Webmasterworld I have enjoyed reading you forum for about 1½ years. This is the first time I feel I have something to contribute.

Welcome to webmasterworld

In the Netherlands (and many other markets) Google sets up campaigns for starting advertisers with more than 2500 euro monthly budget. To my knowlegde they do not actually manage campaigns.

I agree though with the dillema this would give when they both do management and get the traffic revenue (it is a good sales argument for us though).

We are a Dutch agency and for example do not take on direct competitors as clients for this same reason.
