Adwords Authorized Service Partner

Is it real?

I came across a SEM company claiming that they were the "authorized Google Adwords service partner", which I never heard of before. And they went even further claiming that they had the authorization document to prove that they were telling the truth.

Is this for real? Google do have this "authorized Adwords service partner" program at this moment?

That's a new one on me. It doesn't mean that it doesn't exist but it seems to me that Google has been a pretty independent entity and wouldn't do that.

Of course, technically, anyone who runs an adwords campaign is an "authorized Adwords service partner". We are 'authorized' by google to use their adwords system in any way we see fit, whether that be for our own means or to service a client, as long as we follow their rules.

hannamyluv, you have a point there. I'd never thought that way. We are all authorized by Google to use its Adwords system so we are all advertising partner for Google.

But the interesting part is, this very company said they did have some kind of certificate issued by Google to backup their "authorized service partner" claim. Would that be some kind of forgery?

Drop a mail to Google AdWords team about this company. Let's see what they have to say about that!

I think the main question is: What were they offering by being a partner?

There are many Agencies/SEMs who have DIRECT relationships with Google which includes things such as Credit Account and Dedicated Hand Holding.

But as for Approved Adwords resellers or similar to the Overture Accredation scheme, NO is the answer, Google does NOT have any of these.

Google has no any reseller program on AdWords, I sent an email to Google two weeks ago to ask about this thing, their answer is that Google does not run their business in that mode.

I just got an email from a Japanese shopping mall site promoting adwords via a [google.co.jp...] and offering a 2000yen coupon.

Its completely legitimate. This is a sub company of the giant NTT.
