Wow, sneaky advertisers

using .corn instead of .com

I have noticed alot of advertisers lately using the extension .corn in their display URL instead of .com

That is very funny that Google hasn't caught on.

They are doing this so that they can get around the January 2005 affiliate policy.

Here is an example ad.

green widgets official site
award winning green widgets on sale
at the official green widgets website.
www.green-widgets.corn

On google .corn looks very similar to .com

Just thought it was kinda funny that people would actually do this...

Sorry, I am a still learning - Why would they do this? because they don't really own the .com domain name?

I thought google checked the display url was part of the target url when verifying an ad?
