Initially, Ithink that you are billed after the first $50, then it goes up in stages until it reaches the point where Google are happy (say $500 for example).
If you have run your account well for several months and do not go over the limit it is usual to get a monthly billing.
But as with anything to do with Google, Gbilling has an algo all of its own.
