HI,

Until yesterday morning I could login as usual but then in the afternoon I kept getting an "incorrect email or password" error.

The login info has been entered by my browser forever so I know that it is not wrong. Also entering it by hand produces the same results.

I EM'd G but no response so far. I can login to adsense OK.

Anyone else?

Delete your cache.

Clear all Google cookies.

Defrag your computer.

Reboot your computer.

Take one aspirin and call me in the morning.

If this doesn't work is it possible your account has been cancelled?

My. It's after 8:00 in the evening, and here I am getting to WebmasterWorld to post for the first time today. A new record by at least an hour. ;)

Hmmmm. Well, I think Tropical Island's advice is right on the money - maybe even including the aspirin.

In addition I'd suggest that after re-booting you start with a fresh login page reached by going to adwords.google.com (as opposed to using a book mark.)

Then type in your info by hand, but be sure your caps lock key is not on. I'd say that the caps lock key being on accidentally is a leading cause of login problems, since (while the email address is not) the password is case sensitive.

Also here's one that happens from time to time: Do you have a client or colleague who has access to the account? Could they have changed the password?

If none of this works, I'm sure AdWords support will be able to tell you what's going on.

I've also found that a few times I forgot that I changed a password, email address, or a random error occurred (it does happen).

The first thing to try is using the 'recover password feature'. I've found that using that link to reset a password (even if you haven't changed it), somehow helps reset the system so that you can log right back in.

Just something else to try.

done many times

didn't--don't see what effect that would have

Reboot your computer.

I'll take a vodka tonic instead ;-)

not by me

I do this every time

logged in by hand many times-caps not on

nope

I sure hope so because something is obviously screwed up.

G still managed to charge my CC today though. I guess first things first right? Money first--support last.

Try eWhisper's trick - something similar happened to me a while back and that's how I cleared it up.

There was thread about it at:
[webmasterworld.com...]

AWA mentioned letting support know though so they can figure out what the problem is.

One last thing - have you changed/upgraded/updated any firewalls or privacy software lately?

Try disabling the firewall/privacy software and see if it makes a difference.

do you have an adsense account, and did you change its password? I think they change simultaneously--I sort of recall this happening to me once...

No to the firewall and no to resetting the password.

I am 110% sure it was a google hiccup. My browser has logged me in thousands of times with no problem and entering the passwork manually didn't help either.

Still no word from from AW "support" after at least 30 hours...and counting.

Resetting the password worked and everything is back to normal. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks to everyone for the ideas.
