Hello,

Since yesterday I found out that my credit card is not accepted at AdWords payments, although it has enough the money on it OK, and it is perfectly OK.

Are anybody encountered same problems these days?

I tried with another 2 different cards and the same.

Is AdWords advisor around here to help please?

I sent 3,4 emails since yesterday, from Contact Us form, and email to adwords-support@google.com and no reply till now.

Thank you very much in advance!

But why?
I have my card ready with enough money on it.
Why would it be suspended?

No, in my AdWords account it states clearly that the payment cannot be done. That my card can't be charged.

Same card, today has been charged in other transactions, and I chose also 2 different cards, and the error is the same.

Too bad to find out that Google support is so slow, as far as I can see. No response till now.

Try calling them up. This is an urgent enough issue to warrant a call.

Do you know any other contact number besides :

Google Inc.
1600 Amphitheatre Parkway
Mountain View CA 94043
phone: (650) 253-0000
fax: (650) 253-0001

?

I called at (650) 253-0000 and there the IVR is asking me to enter some initials to whom I want to speak.

Is there other Customer Service number?

Thank you!

It happened to me two weeks ago, when I eventually got a response they asked me to fax a photocopy of my card. I did and its all sorted out for that account.

Nothing was wrong with the card at all.

So, don't worry too much, answer the auto responses and be prepared to wait two weeks.

Check the expiration date on your card. Does G have the right date?

I called Google Support, but because I was calling long distance international from Romania, after 9 minutes on hold they said they will return to me with an email, in order to not keep me to much on a long distance call.

They replied to me with an email, to check with my bank
I checked with my bank. The card is ok, no restrictions, with money on it, active with right expiration date. The guys from the bank don't see any authorization requests from Google. The only request from google is the one, from 2 weeks ago, when Google verified my card to see if it's OK. That's the only transaction from Google. All the failed attempts are not found and reaching my bank, logs.

I wrote them back.
:((((((((

I just hope it will get fixed.

I want to pay, and they can't take my money.

Yes, they told me to check with my bank as well.

They told me a lot of things actually, but I think their payment processor is having some problems.

Ah. I just had a thought.

You are from Romania, right? Thats a country known for high fraud. And I'm on holiday logging in from a country different from my usual country.

I expect they are 'improving' their fraud detection.

You could try photocopying your card, scribbling out all but the last four numbers, then faxing it to their 'account verification'. Put 'for the attention of (whoever signs their name on their support emails)'.

The account verification fax numbers are (from the US)
00353 1 633 5884 or 00353 1 436 1003.

The account verification people are in Ireland, so you might need to change the number a little.

If you want to give that a go, it might save you a week of emailing, or it might not help at all.

If it's a simple oversight, it shouldn't take long to get you back up.

But from my experience...I agree this could be the first step to a suspension. It's a little trick google uses to keep your account open but frozen, why? Who Knows? (any answers AWA?).

It happened to me last November and my file has been "currently under review" and "someone will contact you in a few business day".

Queries by phone or email tend to be taken courteously but will quickly go nowhere. (look for recycled cut and paste email responses as a hint)

I still have NOT been given a reason for my suspension and no-one wants to talk about reinstating the account...so much for my 2 year business relationship...(another hint)

Even googl's "live chat" person (someone here told me about)is not much more than a message service, and conveniently, is NOT authorized to discuss your specific problems.

You are no doubt seeing for yourself, many of us here are equally frustrated over similar treatment...I wish you better luck (if you really have not violated TOS)

Thank you Alex, but I really think it's not regarding credit card fraud. I thought of that, also. But there are many here in Romania that are using AdWords and are using AdWords service with their romanian credit cards, working perfectly.
I tried also with a different credit card which was charged without problems this week by another north american internet services provider.

I am starting to understand, duf123 what you're saying ... Too bad, if Google is starting to do such things...

Amgherman,

If you are still having no luck, I think you should fax a photocopy of the card anyway. It might refresh the system if there is an error in it.

The people in account verification will see the fax arrive, see your account is suspended, think its suspended *because* they wanted your card photocopy, see the photocopy and then they might unsuspend your account. That is, if it is an error in their systems.

If it is a human error the people lower down the chain will have ways of concealing their mistakes from their bosses.

They will have many, various, well-practised techniques for sitting on their fundaments all day. Doing something random, yet appropriate, further up the escalation chain will often get more senior people involved.

Now if you fax your credit card, especially if you do not fax it to a specific name, someone will see it and wonder who is taking care of you.

They will start asking awkward questions. At some point, someone will come up behind some lazy Adwords employee with *your fax in their hand* and say 'aren't you supposed to be dealing with this account?'

Do exactly what you would do if someone *was* dealing with your account. It might force them to deal with it. Their techniques for officially ignoring you will not be quite so well-rehearsed at the We Have A Fax Level.

I hate beaurocracy.

Alex,

I'll give you an "A" for thinking outside the box, that suggestion is so insanely simple it just might work...getting them out of their "default program" mode of thinking/reacting could be just the ticket.

Amgherman,

I will be very interested in knowing if this works, (or anything else you've tried for that matter), please keep us "posted"...my account is still being...reviewed?!?!?

My card couldn't go through now either. I re-entered the card details three times and three times it was declined. Phone bank and they it's ok. I ma quite new (since May) and am definately not doing anything wrong in terms of their policy etc. so no reason to want to suspend. The message is clearly that my bank has refused the auth. What to do now? I emailed them with no response yet.

Same issue, and this kind of thing is frustrating for me. I feel, as a long time Adsense publisher who has made google hundreds of dollars and is yet to cash his first cheque, I would at least get a reply. But the Adwords people don't care at all. I'm based in West Africa and this would have been my first credit card transaction if the stupid "Card Declined" message wasn't all I got.
