Along those lines, I wanted to mention that, today, for a period of three hours or so (most likely between 2:00pm and 5:00pm Pacific Time) you may notice that your stats are not updating. The timing mentioned here is estimated, BTW - so please don't set your watch by it. ;)
Stats will be collected as normal during this time, and will then be updated later in the day.
So, bottom line, no stats will be lost - they will just be delayed beyond the usual three hour time frame.
My apology for any inconvenience this may cause, and I hope the advance notice will help to minimize this.

Recently a number of advertisers have had difficulty seeing their ad in the expected position, while searching on their own keywords. We have reviewed several reported cases of this occurrence, and have now further tuned the algo in order to prevent this occurrence in most cases.
Just to set the right expectations: as is most often the case with algo changes, I will not be able to provide additional details of what, specifically, has changed. On the other hand, I'm very glad to be able to provide a bit of advance notice. ;)

My faith in Google has been restored.
Thank you AWA for your continued service to this site. Your efforts are very much appreciated. As of this morning our listings returned to their original standings in our area.
Thanks again! Sorry for all the ragging but I guess it's the squeaky wheel that gets the grease.
I wanted to give you all advance notice that on Friday July 22, 2005, advertisers will be unable to login to their AdWords accounts from roughly 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. (PDT) due to system maintenance. There will also be a UI message with this same information soon.
Please rest assured that your advertising will continue to run as normal during this period.
My apology for any inconvenience this may cause, and I hope that the advance notice will go some way towards eliminating problems. ;)
And, lastly, for those of you that are also AdSense publishers, this will not effect your ability to login to your AdSense accounts.

Sure you're not just trying to pad the post count to pass GG?
Never! (Hey. Wait a minute... Good idea!)
guess ya'll are timing your pitstops to refuel and change tires at the same time...
Haha! Yes, we always consult on this sort of thing beforehand... ;)
Ok, on to more serious business. I love having AdSenseAdvisor as a colleague. I've just returned from a meeting to find that ASA sent me an email letting me know that my earlier alert was not entirely correct.
Quoting ASA in the WebmasterWorld AdSense Forum, from a short time ago.:
Just wanted to let you know that tomorrow, July 22, 2005, between approximately 9 PM – 11 PM Pacific Time we will be conducting scheduled AdSense maintenance. During this time, you may not be able to access the ‘My Accounts’ tab of your account.Your earnings will continue to accrue during this timeframe, and will appear in your reports after the maintenance is complete.

Doh - You passed GoogleGuy in total posts
Shhhh. Let's keep this just between us. GG is the original, and my mentor as well. Not sure I want him to notice. It seems sort of not-right somehow...
Guess there's a new Google Post King around.
Maybe so in terms of raw numbers. But in terms of building goodwill and taking care of one's community, well, I've got some serious catching up to do still. I kid you not.

?
Yeah, I've got a little identity crisis going on, from another Forum on which I also post. Believe me, I make the same mistake there too.
AWA, does this mean the ads will now actually *be* in the positions we expect, or only that we, the account owner, will *see* them in those positions when *we* check (i.e., a form of cloaking)?
They'll actually *be* - that is, in so far as this is possible, given that a fixed (or assured) position has never been a part of the AdWords program.
BTW, I am somewhat reluctant to bring this thread to the top of the page again, since I don't have an actual alert to report. And for this reason, in the future, I think that I'd prefer to not answer follow-on questions in this thread. Instead, I'd request that they be asked in other threads.
I'd like to reserve the 'AWA's Alerts' thread for alerts alone, so that when it goes to the top of the page, it will only mean one thing; an alert.
Thanks in advance. ;)

I got an alert from the tech team a short time ago, which I'd like to pass on:
The pages under the 'My Account' tab will be temporarily unavailable this Saturday from 12:00 to 2:00 pm PDT and next Saturday, August 6th, from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm PDT due to maintenance. While you'll still be able to log into your accounts, you won't be able to view invoices, change your billing address, or update your credit card during this time. Don't worry, your campaigns will still be running normally while you're out enjoying the summer sun!
Please accept our apology for any inconvenience this might cause.

Earlier, I reported that:
The pages under the 'My Account' tab will be temporarily unavailable
this Saturday from 12:00 to 2:00 pm PDT and next Saturday, August 6th, from
8:00 am to 1:00 pm PDT due to maintenance. While you'll still be able to log
into your accounts, you won't be able to view invoices, change your billing

Un-Alert: I've just learned that there almost certainly not be maintenance this coming Saturday, August 6th, 2005. ;)

I just wanted to exercise the Alerts thread a bit, and let you all know that we are currently launching the keyword status changes and quality-based minimum bids - and that the launch will be completed shortly.
Once the launch is completed, and once everyone has had a chance to take a look, I'll do my best to answer questions later in the day. Please know that it is rather busy here today. ;)
In order to reserve this thread for Alerts, though, let's not start a new discussion on this subject here. At present, it seems there are multiple threads on the subject, the most active of which is this one:
