Good conversion ratios

What do you consider a good conversion ratio - 2%, 5%, 10%, etc? Obviously, this may depend on the offer itself. I'm looking for a benchmark or base reference to start a campaign with.

Assuming your converstion ratio means "number of sales/leads/whatever in relation to number of visitors", then a decent conversion rate to start with is 1%, so one in hundred visitors buys.

A good conversion ratio is one where you get a good ROI. For some a Conversion Ratio of 0.5% is profitable while others are losing money with a Conv. Ratio of 2.5%.

Here are some stats from some accounts we manage:
Account #1 CTR 2.7% Conv.Rate 0.86%
Account#2 CTR 2.9% Conv.Rate 2.34%
Account #3 CTR 5.2% Conv.Rate 2.94%
Account #4 CTR 1.8% Conv. Rate 3.5%
Account #5 CTR 3.1% Conv. Rate 19.8%

In this example Account#1 is getting a far better ROI than Account#5 and so is making more money from their AdWords spend.

FoundAgency, I take it Account #1 has a much lower CPC since Account #5 has better CTR and significantly better conversion ratio?
