In the new AdWords interface, whenever it is attempted to create a new Ad Group using Netscape, AdWords permanently halts on the "Please wait while we check your website URL and ad text" screen
I experienced the same thing.

I wonder if this may have something to do with the version of Netscape you are using? (For example, is it a really old version? Have you tried updating to the most current version?)
Is there any chance that you (and Marls too!) could post and let me know what version of Netscape you were using when you had the problem? I'll send the info along to engineering and see what they can discover.
