How to create the perfect landing page?

We are selling videogames and accessories...

We are selling videogame and electronics. I have done a lot of studies and I know how important it is to start a dialogue with visitors.

Does anybody know a place where to find good examples and guidelines for a perfect landing page? We are about to do a re-design for our pages, and it would be great to have this included.

As said, our target is not leads, emails or whatever, we are trying to sell more videogames :)

Thanks

cant help you out with landing pages, but can give you a slightly different idea.

Pretend for a moment that you are a surfer/visitor who does a search on Google, then clicks on an Adword listing.

WHAT WOULD YOU EXPECT TO FIND as a buyer (info, pictures, hard/soft sell, pricing)

does that make sense, probably not, but thats how we have always done it, and its worked so far.

Shak is onto something. You need to convince the buyer in one page that this is what they want, and need. You're a reputable company and there is no need to go further. You need a lot of action verbs to tell the surfer what to do. "Click here to buy now!".

I would imagine you get a lot of click throughs from kids. Maybe you can have a "tell your parent" about this page type form simiiar to the "tell a friend" thing.

Just some ideas.

Thanks a lot. That's what we have already now, I thought that there are some experience values like "you always should have this, and that etc", similar to the usability information available...

I'll do some more research through google, if I can't find something, I pretend we have what is neded :)

BTW: I have seen a post somewhere here where somebody said he reset his statustics after a keywords change. I can't find this in google's adword admin so far, any idea?

Thanks again.
