Is it legal to use your competitors company name as a keyword for which to target your own product?
Is it a problem in the industry of adwords advertising?

I think this depends on your country (specific laws) and also if it's a trademark or not. If you compare, then it should be fine in some jurisdictions, but for example in others it is a big NO NO....
