Hi, does anyone know why the payment address and payment users for 2 separate child accounts are linked under one MCC account? I am the admin for the Main MCC account and account A. So for account A I tried to change the address and it automatically updates the address on account B, and there is no way I can change the payment users for both accounts, as well as the billing transfers, the "pencil button (edit button)" got greyed out, does anyone came across this issue before and knows why this happens?

I have previously had the same issue and what I found is that it is in relation to pay.google.com accounts. If you set up a Google Ads account and payment method there is a "Payment Profile" created in pay.google.com under the same Google account that you used to set up the Google Ads account. In my case, I found that even though the address was different in account A & account B, they were still connected to the same payment profile in pay.google.com. This lead to account A using account B's payment method as a backup (not ideal). As a result of this ridiculous process, my account A was charging account B's primary payment method (likely, I noticed before the client) after a declined charge.

SOLUTION: You have to create a new payment profile (pay.google account) under the correct email address. In my case, this was the client's billing email. Once that is set up you need to initiate a billing transfer of the Google Ads account to the correct payment profile. This is something that you most likely will be unable to initiate (greyed out pencil) and you will have to reach out to support to do.

Another possibility?

Does the account have an authorized administrator besides yourself? Services like Ezoic, Mediavine and AdThrive handle ad placement for you but require you grant them access to the MCC account. Obviously, they aren't going to get paid to your account, so would need a 2nd payment profile, no?

I'd check, but I sold my sites early.

In the past support has helped me. If you create a new account from inside the MCC it defaults the last payment profile you created. If you don't select new payment profile you end up connecting two accounts. I did that when I started having to create a lot of new accounts several years ago.
