Getting the specific position of a given click

Is there any way I can find the position an ad was in when it was clicked? In other words, is they any info in the clickstream that can tell me whether the ad was at position 1, 2, 3, etc?

Or can I add a parameter to my target URL that will let me find this out?

You may be able to hack a solution. I don't advertise so I am not sure about if it will work for you, but as publisher I use it in my AdSense reports.

If you know the pages and if the pages have different ad sizes for each ad placement then you can use the ad creative size as a proxy for position. Eg: top ad is 728 x 90, mid ad 250 x 300 and bottom ad 300 x 600. This supposes that you can get a report of ad sizes. Also, over wide variety pages it may not possible to get exact figures but you could get an approximation, from say using the banner size vs other sizes. This could give a hint if top of the page ad placement perform better or worse.
