Business name replaced with URL in Call Only Ad Campaign

Hi,

I've been running an Adwords Call Only campaign and in the majority of the ads the business name is being replaced with the URL of website when the ads are live.

I have been in touch with Google Adwords support and they suggested a couple of things:

Remove the Longer Headline setting in automatic extensions. They told me it would take about a week to filter through (3 weeks ago)
Remove /page from my display URLs

They told me yesterday it is an algorithm that dictates whether the information entered in to the business field is replaced with the URL and that there is nothing I or they can do.

I find this hard to believe as my competitors all run Call Only Ads due to the industry and it is only in my ads that I see this issue.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Hi showFocus and welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com]

This is the first I've heard this, but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened before.

So it appears they have given you the answer why this happened. Guess you'll need to wait for it to adjust. Now you'll know what not to do :)

There may be an advantage to this if your domain name reflects your business. This may be good for branding.
