BTW: T-Online is the biggest ISP in Germany (and if I remember correctly in Europe, too).
My bet is Scandinavia will be next:
[webmasterworld.com...]
just to give you an example how far 1st april can go:
on the german forum suchmaschinentricks.de they announced today that Google will exlude all german and french pages from the index within the next days as a clear statement against the political decisions of Germany and France.
there must have been at least one minor hart attack among german webmasters today. *lol*
[I tried the directory within T-online, because I thought, there is maybe a deal between G and them like between Lycos and espotting/overture, that one is within the serps and the other one within the directory. I couldnīt find anything.]
And, I see two large boxes, with each 1 link, 90% of the box is empty, but clickable.
Mouse pointer only reveals the click possebility on the actual link, not the empty space.*
And it's in the part were you normally click if you need to scroll your mousewheel (to activate the window or something).
Meaning a lot of (accident) clicktroughs I guess.
Mental note: must remove germany -now
*Not sure how to describe this, hope you know what I mean?
Seem like a common mistake, I also got some adwords e-mail in German earlier as well.
Other services have the same 'problem' I used to work for a big american e-commerce co. and they did the same.
I guess German and Dutch does look alike for americans.
Like f.e. Swedish, danish, norwegen etc look the same to me :)
The funny thing is to see those ads in Opera on 1024 you have to sidescroll. Should give great CTR.
>added>Just checked with IE: same sidescroll.
What's more, the ads are vearly invisible in that all that other ads and nav-bars. Chip is a site with more advertizing than anything else. Don't know, but if that gives a good CTR I would be very surprised.
Now thinking about the ultra cluttered pages at T-Online.de....
But, did you try to click anywere in the grey area?
(i really would like to know :) )
Even when the mousepointer don't change, you go to the advertiser.
(in both IE and Opera)
This is the ad I see after clicking DVD, btw:
Goedkope DVD's
*****.nl voordat je nederlandse en buitenlandse DVD's koopt

Maybe they compensate that by the above.
(the whole clickable area)
I'm on 2 monitors, to be able to scroll on the other screen, like just now, i have to click somewhere in the window.
(Sorry mister ebay affiliate, I just costed you 3 bucks, by accident)
