AdWords Editor Deletes Ad with Dest URL Change

I have landing pages set at the ad level rather than the keyword level. When I want to try a new landing page for a set of ad group, I upload new ads with the new final url in adwords editor. But because the ad copy text is the same (headline, desc1, desc2), adwords editor wants to modify the existing ad rather than adding a new one.

I would like to be able to pause the old ad and upload a new one with a new final url without it overwriting the existing ad.

Does anyone disagree with this approach or have a way that you've figured out how to do this type of thing efficiently? The only way I know how to get around this is to go into adwords editor and manually copy each individual ad, paste a new one, pause the existing one, and change the final url in the new one. But I havent been able to figure out how to do this in bulk rather than one ad at a time manually.

Hi Dougmcc- I think what you want to do is fine, as a general rule of thumb, I always pause anything in the account that was created and create new ads, keywords, etc because it may impact your historical rankings.Not the most efficient way, but its the safest route to take. Good luck!
