AWA,

here's one for your friday love letter to the powers that be ...

many a time an advertiser is having to use a different credit debit card then his/her company card.

could be his/her personal, or spouses card.

so why oh why, does Google not have a seperate section for CARD billing (for security and visa/mastercard purposes) and another section for Invoice purposes.

I can see many a taxman getting funny wanting to know why company X is claiming for spending done on Mrs Xs personal name and address.

anyone else agree ...

Notch another vote for a backup card to be charged if the first transaction fails.

adsense payment usually gets approved around the 18th-22nd of the month.

If we could have those 8-12 days before the 1st of the next month to transfer over to AW for the upcoming month, would be a great help.

I for one would spend more that way....probably double my ad spend if I could do that...and hopefully make more too! :-)

I simply would like to see them email an invoice everytime they charge my credit card. I am sure this would also benefit accounting departments everywhere.

Make this the fifth vote for linking AdSense and AdWords together - especially for non-US residents it's a bind, expensive and also slow cashing dollar checks.

Use the AdSense balance against AdWords first, then deduct from credit card (or another source). Any surplus as the end of the month can sent by check (or whatever).

(I bet some people are scratching their heads at this request - easier to understand if you run multiple sites with very different types of traffic.)

no offence intended here at all, but how many 5 or 6 figure adwords spenders here are also adsense publishers?

whilst I appreciate the need for cross accounting, I doubt it's high on everybody's list

sorry missed the Friday deadline but I'd like to see a decent description on the cc-slips. Account name (at least) and time span period? Very handy if you have 17 accounts on one card.

Everyone here has alot of great ideas, many of them I agree with but mostly I agree with sending e-mail notifications when charging and when balance is low if person is prepay.

I think it's just about providing good customer service and making your customers feel that you appreciate their business, something that I often wonder if Google does appreciate.

I wish Google would add VAT to any clicks as they occur and not tag it onto my bill at the end of the month. It screws tracking links and conversions right up! especially when you are running campaigns on a daily basis.

eg: yesterday I got 500 clicks at 0.04p/click
Total = £20

I made £23 in sales on that day testing, so yippee £3 profit. I might push this campaign further.

Oh no, wait a minute! I have to now do my calculations to add VAT to what I have spent on clicks. Works out at £3.50. So I actually made a loss of £0.50. I want to be able to see this immediately. Not have to get my calculator out to figure how much of a loss I made that day.

Please add VAT to clicks as they occur. Please!

Wow!

I'm back from a three day weekend, and am delighted to see that this thread has really taken off. Thanks to Shak for initiating it, and to all who have posted.

I'll send the link to this entire thread to the correct teams in this week's Advertiser Feedback Report, along with some verbatim quotes. So keep those cards and letters coming in!*

(BTW the Advertiser Feedback Report actually goes out on Thursday now, rather than Friday...)

Many thanks!

Amex--getting Skymiles for all the $ I pay Google

Lucky you - Amex cancelled our cards, saying that it was against their terms and conditions to use it to pay suppliers!

I second (third, fourth) a backup credit card option.

Happy travelling Shak - say hi to HK for me.

Shak: I guess your right in what you say but I was thinking of teh little people like me, where a 12 sites would pay for one big sites adwords.

I'm all for an SMS notification though that might be a bit complex to set up. And definitely would love to see a back up credit card option.

I have been running up Airmiles by paying our suppliers with VISA for years. Glad I don't use an Amex card. You think they would have given you a warning first.

Another vote for paying adwords with adsense income.

It would be great to be able to change the adwords billing currency.

They didn't do Australian Dollars when I started adwords but they do now.

I think I would have to close the account and start again to get an AUD bill so why not just allow us to change the currency?

Dang! Another busy day, and I'm just now making my first visit to post!

Thanks to everyone for all the billing feedback in this thread, which I am about to start incorporating into the Advertiser Feedback Report. It'll be going out in about 4 hours, so still time for your late-breaking suggestions/Comments. ;)

(As I mentioned, I'll be forwarding the link to the entire thread, so all comments will be seen - and I'll also quote several, verbatim, in the report itself.)

I would like to support the following suggestions:
- advance notice of billing and notification of failure to make payment by email
- ability to have invoice emailed directly to our accounts
- deduct charges from Adsense revenue (not doing adsense now, but will start shortly, and it makes sense)
- ability to change nominated currency, I would like to be able to do NZD without starting over.

When a payment does fail, rather than having to put in the CC details again, I think a "try again" button would be great (after I have transferred funds onto the card).

Thanks AWA!

This has been in place for ages - I think what many of us are looking for is something that gets round the problem of adverts being dropped immediately when billing failure occurs
