Hi,

I am just going to start PPC for my company's website and would like to know which form of keywords would benefit more.

Broad
Phrase
Exact

Or shall i mix and match some of them?

I would like to understand which set would benefit on Google's search in paid marketing. Help needed to be expert in creating ads as per that search.

Thanks.

You can blow through a lot of money if you don't know what you are doing.

Some people start out with only modified broad and some start out with exacts. Broad will bring a lot more traffic. It depends on how much you want to pay to learn about your part of the web.

Don't ever use broad. use modified broad. Modified broad is when you put a + in front of each word. Modified broad will get bike, kikes, biker and normal broad will get marshmallow and music. It is almost that bad. Just stay away from normal broad.

Find out what exact terms will be typed in the most and use exact match for that.

Phrase match is helpful to get the better traffic out of broad.

Broad is very helpful but make sure you set up lots of negatives and constantly check your detailed keyword report to keep adding new negatives often.

Before you start spending a bunch of money you need to learn about quality score and proper ad group setup and much more. You can waste a lot of money with adwords if your not careful. Google makes a lot of money off of novices. They designed adwords in such a way that it is very easy to waste a lot of money.

Exact is a good way to start (and limit spend). Find out what works and does not. You can always change at a later time. Also, don't be in a hurry. You are looking at months and MONTHS before you get reasonable metrics to make long term planning decisions. And get an idea what kind of income is possible, and which pages do better than others.

Hi ,

Ogletree so then I ve used Broad match mostly for Organic search marketing or SEO to say and rankings are good across Google. SO as you said I should resort on to Modified Broad and Exact as Keywords search then. I also had read about modified broad but was not sure how to apply the same. Thanks will do that.

tangor; Exact match is good but my company is in competitive market, so how that turns out I m unsure.

Thanks to both.
