Adwords budget question

Do I pay even if nobody clicks my ad?

I'm new to adwords (and advertising on the web in general) and just created my Adwords account, budget, and list of key words. I notice they keep track of impressions and clicks. Will I pay only for clicks? If I get no clicks, or a very small number of clicks, will I still be charged each day?

I know these are very basic questions, but I didn't see these specific questions addressed anywhere on the Adwords tutorial/help pages.

Welcome to Webmasterworld!

You pay only for clicks. You are charged on a monthly basis.

Don't get used to it. Some questions will not be answered at all, others need to be "nudged" once or twice before answers are coming in. But usually members here a very friendly and open and willing to help.

Just remember - in time - to give something back to the community.

Have fun!

You are charged on a monthly basis.

This depends on the payment option you selected (which is determined by what country you are in).

For most people who use credit card payment options, you're given a line of credit - depending on how quickly you exhaust that line of credit depends on how often you are charged.

If you don't spend enough to meet the line of credit, Google usually charges you at the beginning of the month.

[adwords.google.com...] has many of the billing answers you're looking for.
