Ideal Impression cap to be placed on Remarketing campaign

With increasing concerns about creepiness of remarketing campaigns what is the ideal cap of impression per day/month should be placed while starting out new campaigns?

I am aware about the figure dependent on many scenarios including industry and other factors but how can one calculate to arrive at a figure?

And if we are to assume certain figure then what should be the number?

There are certain suggestions like 5 impression per month per campaign while some have suggested 2 impression per day per adgroup. Has anyone tested out and has certain figures to share?

Thank you.

i dont think your question has an answer, it varies too much.

if you're doing non-naked remarketing (other targeting methods besides remarketing), that plays into the view rate of the visitor in a way that serves to impose a behavioral imp cap.

if you're running naked, full creep mode, that same imp cap varies depending on the type of person you're chasing... not all demographic profiles represent an even amount of display type activity... for example, in B2B realm, the visitors are often more search centric, and less display activity oriented, so there's another natural imp cap.

if you're a small brand, less familiar than usual, your creepiness is more obvious, so i'd spin down the creep knob if you're not walmart-esque.

there are other factors too, socio-economic profile, cost range of product, average funnel length, and on and on that will impact your decision tree regarding how timely your chase needs to be.

love the question, but if someone gives an answer, and claims X is the optimum value, i'll be back to poke them in the ribs and laugh.

Thanks Rhinofish. You actually highlighted some valid points here like if someone is SME then the creepiness would be more compared to giants like Wallmart. And yes, the answer would definitely vary.

So instead of having general ballpark, maybe someone can share with us some of their numbers where they experimented. They can specify the test scenario like B2B industry, frequency cap, time period and their observation. Not necessary that the experiment has to be a success. Just their observations. Any feedback on this would be great.
