Google extending ads with page content

Just noticed google added a line from my landing page to my ad, they have tacked the first line of my product description to my ad but in a really cack handed way. The added content is actually the content of a block of puff plus the first sentence of the product description and they have run the two together changing case so it reads:

Now with free deliverya fantastic new addition to the Widget Manufacturer range.

Is this a new 'feature' and can I turn it off?

It'll just run for a short while as an experiment, and Google will probably discard it if it's producing crap results like the one you're seeing. In general you can't turn these experiments off, as otherwise they wouldn't be able to gather the data they need. But don't worry too much, it probably won't last long.
