Local search result comparison with keyword tool

I just want to know how much we can rely on the Local Search results with the Google keyword tool.

If for keyword1 if it shows total results = x
for another keyword it shows results = 2x

Will it be accurate to conclude that with keyword2 twice any many searches were there?

If you can still see local search figures in the tool I think you're pretty lucky. They have gone for me, I only get global figures now :-( (unless it changed again...)

I would say they are relative figures so in theory yes, you "could" assume that it's got double the volume, but I'd still not trust it's accuracy too much.

I'm in India, I've checked it again. I can access it. Also I've read in some forum that exact match is bit reliable when comparing any figures.

Keyword tool has gotten better but I still think the most accurate way of gauging volume is to run a test campaign and view the impressions
