I've seen a problem in the last few months in various accounts where ALL content campaigns in an account will get suddenly shut off despite having a visible status as active.
An example visits by hour scenario would look like the following:
12am 100
1am 123
2am 200
3am 300
4am 320
5am 330
6am 250
7am 400
8am 5
9am 2
10am 3
11am 0
12pm 1
So on and so forth. The next day, the campaign(s) will spend again just fine.
Here is what I know is NOT a problem.
1. Keywords - They're well chosen and obviously work at the start of each day.
2. Campaign Budget - These campaigns never come close to hitting their budget.
3. Bids - The bids are clearly enough to get traffic at some point.
If this were happening with one or two adgroups, then I would suspect competition heating up as the day goes on, but its happening in all campaigns within an account.
I've also made plenty of content network campaigns for other accounts that spend just fine throughout the day with no issues.
My theory, is that Google does some sort of CPM optimization on an advertiser domain level that runs daily (or multiple times per day). They look at a domain and if the CTR or quality isn't up to a certain level it gets shut off.
My question is, has anybody else seen this and found a way to optimize out of it?
