Does this new account bidding strategy make sense?

I'm setting up a load of new keywords in broad, phrase and exact campaigns. Keywords are identical other than match type.

I plan on setting up each keyword's max CPC as follows:

Broad: First page CPC + $0.10
Phrase: First page CPC + $0.30
Exact: First page CPC + $0.50

Now obviously I'll manage bids accordingly once the campaign has been running for a week or so, but does that make sense as a starting point?

The other thing I considered was:

Broad: First page CPC + 10%
Phrase: First page CPC + 30%
Exact: First page CPC + 50%

What do you think? Any advice much appreciated :)

Actually, it seems + 75%/100%/125% makes more sense.

i concur, your initial gaps are too large.

you also may want to try Mod Broad versus Broad.

caveat: overly mechanical approach is never good, i doubt this simple of a template will always work well. i can think of times where phrase doesn't fit, as an example. same with broad. add one more level of sophistication at least, like template your sets differently if they are 1,2,3,4,5 word keywords. regardless of that, apply your noodle more, clogging your account mechanically will hurt your QS account history.
