Hi guys

I'm trying to set up an adwords account for my new employer. I was wondering how long they take to be activated these days?

I'm sure they used to me near instant, but google support haven't even bothered to respond to my queries. I get some automated rubbish that doesn't help, what do you guys suggest we do to get things rolling?

regards

Your question has a lot of variables needed in order to provide an accurate answer. If you're talking about "just setting up" as in putting money into an account - its pretty instantaneous.
If you're talking about researching keywords, writing ads, optimizing a landing page; well that's a whole different question.

I think he means how much time before ads are served. A few variables there as well such as if you're talking text ads or images. Depending on words used in your ads, you may have to wait a little longer to get approved.

The consensus is that new accounts take a little longer but I really don't see much of a difference. If all is well, your ads should start showing within an hour or less after creating them, assuming people search on your keywords. Note that data is not real-time so you may not see any apparent activity for many hours.
