How do I add my own account to MCC?

Situation: I had my own personal AdWords account, and managed my son's biz account. then I found/set up a MyClientCenter account.

Problem:I was able to link his account easily enough but I can't get the same process (linking) to work with my own personal account so they both appear in MCC.

What am I missing?

Nevermind. I finally found the answer.

Once you have created an MCC account, in link an existing account, you can enter the Customer ID of your AdWords account. Now, go back and log in to your AdWords account. In My account->Access->accept the invitation of the MCC and your AdWords account will become a child account of your newly created MCC account. When you log back to the MCC account, you should see your AdWords account, listed as a child account.
