In the middle of last week I noticed a spike in impressions & clicks on 1 of our content campaigns.

On checking the networks report I discovered that 1 site had delivered over 56,000 impressions in 2 days with 80 clicks.

This represented 57% of the total impressions for the 2 days & 47% of the clicks.

The name of the site immediately set off alarm bells - a .info site with a reference to full page ads. When you copy & paste the site it is a redirect to a phony Google search engine page that is misspelled - gogoel.

I immediately blocked the site however I would be interested to know if anyone else has run into this & how they managed to get an approved AdSense account?

They probably applied for the account with a different domain. Did you notify Google?

Not yet. Trying to get to the e-mail page is an exercise.

I just reported it.

Well I received a form letter in response.
It appears they didn't even read the info I sent them.

Give them a day or two after the form letter. The issue probably got stuck in a queue to be dealt with.
