Problems downloading data from Adwords Editor

Hi, I have been reading this forum for a while. Time to post...

I have downloaded a new client account (and all time statistics) into AdWords Editor.

However, some ad groups (say 20ish of 200) are missing ad copy. There is keyword data, but no AD COPY (or any data) at all for SOME ad groups. Most ad groups look fine, but a few don't have any ad copy. I do not have any filters on.

Obviously I know they are missing ad copy because I can see the ad copy in the live account.

I have also downloaded this a/c onto 3 different computers and same issue.

Any ideas why this is happening, and more importantly why?

are these solely plain text ads that are missing?

are they active / paused ones?

when you sync, and see the count of ads, then compare the count of ads in the live platform, can you see if both are reporting the same numbers of ads?

- yes they are are just text ads
- they are active - some are for ad groups that have just one ad (visible in adwords console) but show nothing in editor
- i dont sync - i just downloaded a/c into editor, it doesnt show numbers, just when its complete, then i look in ad group, and no ad? its driving me nuts

are there any weird characters in these ads at all, like single or double quotes, slashes, ampersands or anything at all like that?
