I now have two competitors who are double and triple serving ads, this niche seems to have attracted several monkey see monkey do approach to marketing two in particular. First they all copied everything we did, then one dabbled in Black Hat Tactics (which worked really good a far as I can tell, mush to my dismay) then the other followed the lead and it work like a charm for them (as far as I can tell from the organic SERPs)
Now the latest is to abuse adwords by double and triple serving ads for their main domains and their self maintained quasi affiliate domains.
The keyword bidding has gone through the roof in the last three months better than doubling in cost in some instances, talk about inflation.
We are a 'very stick best practices' shop 100%, it feels like it's reaching to the point where we won't be able to compete anymore without re-viewing our best practices policies.
I've reported the extremely excessive link exchanging violations to google with no avail and now I've been reporting their double serving ads reporting for the 3 months to no avail.
One company is so brash they use the same copy in the ads they run concurrently and they not even try to conceal ownership of the domains, 2 of the domains link directly from their parent company website. Might be easier to digest if they were at least trying hide what they are doing.
At least the other company did their best to conceal their identity. And might have a loop hole.
To be beaten by genius is one thing to be beaten by supposedly tactics that violate the TOS another...
It really seems at this point that Google's TOS is just giving lip service, have they reached the point where money talks...
