You guys like this option? Is there a way to just shut it off. I like the fact i can put - green widgets. And I get searchs for - blue green widgets. But I am getting so much way off stuff and there appears to be no way to identify why. I had a three word term that got broad matched synonim for 2 of the words. Well needless to say it is pretty untargeted at that point.

Also bluewidgets was matched to greenwidgets. The bluewidgets ad was a higher ctr then my greenwidgets ad so the bluewidgets ad was bumping the greenwidgets add on the term "greenwidgets". Google is way too smart to think this is correct.

This must be very old news. I am so amazed. the term - big blue widgets - has triggered on - large green widgets - . Using the "-" so everyknows it is broad match queries.
Of course my CTR is lower on the second term as I never thought I was targeting it. My ad says Big Blue Widgets. Not likely to sell to people looking Large Green Widgets. Also my page does not have green widgets as I was trying to sell Blue ones. Does anyone know if they have expanded this the last few months?

Easily done, toddb. You'll just want to choose other keywords options, such as "phrase match", or [exact match].

There is lots of info about this on the AdWords site. Here are a few places to start:

What are keyword matching options?

What are the steps to creating a keyword list?

I hope these resources will help!
