Hello,

This has been puzzling me for a long while, but it has become a pain lately.

In my web logs I'm seeing thousands and thousads of requests for a file named data.xml. Many of those requests are made by pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/ (the link goes on) and tpc.googlesyndication.com/pagead/imgad (the link goes on). The rest of the requests don't have a referring page, just a "-".

The other file being requested in a lesser amount is crossdomain.xml

Of course, everything returns 404 error.

If I click on the link, it goes to a flash mobile ad.

I don't think it is a spoof referrer because it is not downloading anything from my site. It seems to me that it is an Adwords glitch or something.

I'm not doing ADWORDS.

I use Doubleclick for publishers to handle my ads and have set up Adsense to fill the remaining inventory.

I couldn't find any way to contact Google so I'm trying here to see if there is any Adwords rep from google or something.

Thanks!

Enrique

Well, that question was certainly not the kind of answer I was expecting...
Anybody else? I can't believe that this is haunting me and can't contact Google.
I came to this forum because I understand that Google reps. post here. Hope one of them read this post. Thanks!
