Google AdWords & *Automated* Bid Management Tools

Automated bid management tools - do they work *well* with Google AdWords?

Does anybody have first-hand experience of using the likes of Atlas OnePoint to *automate* the management of bids within Google AdWords? I can appreciate it that such tools can monitor ROI etc but can they physically change bids in Google AdWords *effectively*?

I know that Overture has approved several services that automate the bids within Overture - but how do these tools manage this process within Google AdWords?

If anybody is able to give a short step-by-step listing of what happens that would be great.

[Disclosure: I'm a competitor of AtlastOnePoint's, so I tend to see more of the bad than good with them]

In every case I've ever heard of someone using or trying to use AtlasOnePoint, they never were able to get it to work well on AdWords, and for both Overture and Google, granular rules were constantly having to be modified by the client as changing cost and revenue data came in.

If you want a self-service tool that serves as one interface to multiple PPCSE's, AtlasOnePoint is great. If you want a solution that *automates* based on your overall business goals, keep searching.

We tried the AOP 'free trial'. For Overture it works well but for AdWords it didn't worked at all... Almost all the automated bid fuctions don't work with AdWords

I don't think there's any automated bidding tools except Google's own that will work well on AdWords. Don't waste your money for these tools.
