Hi, I am very new to the concept of a tracking code so am not entirely sure how to get it and where to add it.
What I would like to achive is find out the completion of a purchase by the customer arriving at a 'purchase completed transation page' in relation to the landing page that they have arrived at, either via adwords or by organic listings.
Is this something I should do via Google Adwords conversion code (I have read about that but still not entirely sure how it works0. This seems to just provide stats as to when people land on your page.. isn't that waht the clicks are? Must be missing something here.
Or is it better to add a code via a goal in analytics...
Anyone able (and willing) to expand how and where these codes need to be added and which is best.
As I understand it... I need a code for the landing page and a code for the purchase completion page... but which code and where do I get it?

ps My website basically sends customers to a sub-domain that I have to request a techie to add the code to as it is 'off-site'.
