Has anyone played around with the new MCC reporting center? I'm being strongly encouraged to start using it because the old reporting center and all my carefully built templates and reports will be deleted "soon".

The Learn More page goes to a "not found" Adwords Help topic, so I'm a little in the dark. Am I supposed to recreate all my MCC reports by hand? And how soon is "soon"?

The loss of templates is very frustrating, especially since the "create similar" doesn't work how you would expect, especially if you need to select a subset of accounts. And totals - keeping totals around would be nice.

Sigh.

There was a AdWords MCC update quite recently to add some functionality like 'search across accounts' but no major loss/change of function apart from that I don't think...

to be honest I don't see why they removed the options from the advertiser reports platform as surely everyone is just going to add them back in?

PS. there's no charge for setting up a MCC and there is no loss of functionality so you may as well access it via that method if you think you might loose your marbles with the current system..

The reporting changes are driving me crazy.

Google has more than doubled the time required to work with multiple conversion types.

Data that took one minute to pull and 10 minutes to analyze now takes one minute to pull, 15 minutes to organize into a useful format, and then 10 minutes to analyze.

You can no longer see that a keyword / ad group/ etc lead to 12 sales and 8 leads and 6 subscriptions in a single line. With the segments, each conversion type is a different row; so now you have to reorganize all the data to put it into a useful format.

I'm running these reports in the old interface right now; but the new UI has the same issues with segmentating all of this data into different rows and making analysis take much longer.

I've found zero documentation on this change, so it is possible that I'm in some kind of limited test that most MCCs aren't seeing.

My MCC Client Reporting Tab now has a message telling me to try out the new MCC client reporting interface and vaguely warning me about the imminent destruction of my old MCC reports.

I tried out the new MCC Client Reports, and I agree with eWhisper - a big step backwards. The biggest one appears to be the loss of templates. You have to "create similar" a new report for each and every report you want to run. This would be fine, except it doesn't work! If you "create similar" a report "A", and make no changes, you don't get another report "A"! They reset certain of the parameters, such as account sub-selection. You used to be able to edit templates several times to get your parameters right, but no editing anymore.

Are they trying to encourage us to use the API to pull reports instead?

Big changes, no warning, no documentation, more work for me. Double sigh.

That was my thought. Maybe its time to build a basic API reporting system just to mimic the old interface's reports.

The official Adwords blog now has some information on the MCC reporting change.
